ARTICLE DESCRIPTION: By the time this editorial makes it to press, the last major event of this millennium for the Institute, 'Making the Difference' Conference, will have been delivered... As the last chairman of the IOM in this millennium and the first of the new one, I would like the opportunity to share a few of my thoughts with you all. The age of the dinosaurs lasted one hundred and eight million years but finished sixty five million years ago. The reason the dinosaurs lasted such a long time was probably due to the stability of their environment rather than adaptability to change. As the last chairman of the IOM in this millennium and the first of the new one, I would like the opportunity to share a few of my thoughts with you all. We will also continue to look for colaboration with other Institutes in research to keep our members at the cutting edge of our core activities. As we leave this millennium lets try and make sure the dinosaurs rest in peace in the new one. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and all your families a Very Happy Christmas and a successful bug free New Year and look forward to the dawning of the New Millennium PUBLISHER: Institute of Operations Management Page number: 5 Words: approx. 250 Vol 25 - No 10 - December/January 2000
