MORE INFO: Seeking Small Businesses SME's in the electrical and electronic equipment sectors have an opportunity to receive expert advice and help in producing Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for products that they manufacture in the UK. In return, businesses are asked to provide product data for a pan-European project that is being developed by the Environment Agency and other organisations across Europe. The project: Electronic Life Cycle Assessment (eLCA) will eventually provide software and guidance to help SMEs carry out assessment on their products to establish their environmental impacts and to assist with eco-design. These measures are increasingly required by large suppliers moving towards 'green procurement' and will be required under EU law. The project forms part of a pack of measures that the Environment Agency is developing to help SMEs cope with the complexities of environmental legislation. A new online initiative NetRegs - www.environment-agency.gov.uk/netregs has been designed to help SMEs understand the environmental regulations governing their activities.
