Today’s Internet-driven business environment has catapulted APS and SCM into the spotlight. In this brave new world, the Internet is empowering businesses to operate via new channels across a global market, whilst simultaneously subjecting them to harsh and unfamiliar competition, volatile demand and diminished customer loyalty. Meanwhile customers are demanding highly personalised service but delivered within ever decreasing timescales. Hence, the move towards mass customisation and the need to achieve high levels of responsiveness is forcing strategic change right throughout the supply chain.
