A Blast Against The Monstrous Regiment of Toyota - Analytical techniques Article

The article entitled: "A Blast Against The Monstrous Regiment of Toyota" is in the Analytical techniques Articles section of Operations Management Papers area...

ARTICLE DESCRIPTION: It has by now become a prevailing orthodoxy that the manufacturing systems pioneered and developed so effectively by the Toyota Corporation of Japan, (Lean manufacturing, Quality assurance, JIT, Supply Chain Management, Kaizen, and so on), represent the apex of manufacturing excellence today and that consequently all other companies must, to whatever extent is practical, now adopt these specific systems.

MORE INFO: A Blast Against The Monstrous Regiment of Toyota It has by now become a prevailing orthodoxy that the manufacturing systems pioneered and developed so effectively by the Toyota Corporation of Japan, (Lean manufacturing, Quality assurance, JIT, Supply Chain Management, Kaizen, and so on), represent the apex of manufacturing excellence today and that consequently all other companies must, to whatever extent is practical, now adopt these specific systems. The situation is, as usual, in reality more complex and I am of the opinion that it is time for a more critical examination of this orthodoxy. To do so effectively probably requires a little more scepticism about the Toyota myth than is usual.
