The cyclical effects of the economy has affected businesses since before the Industrial Revolution. In recent decades the downward effects have been most prominent, yet still variable. More recently the criticality of factories fortunes has been seen. Output jumped by 0.8 % in April… the largest in 8 months, fanning hopes that the worst is over for the recession-hit (manufacturing) sector (The Times 12/6/02).
